Kabila tells Kagame: You are meddling in our internal affairs!

By Staff Writer Uganda AND Rwanda have been accused of interfering in the internal affairs of their neighbour, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Stop treating us like children – Rwanda tells Western donors

By Duncan Miriri Rwanda has accused Western governments of using aid to treat African states like children, after three countries cut cash to Kigali because of its policy in Congo. The three countries include the United States which has blocked $200,000 in military aid to the central African nation; the Netherlands which has suspended five million Euros of aid;  and  Britain which announced announced this week it was delaying £16m ($25m) in budget support due to Rwanda this month while it considered whether aid conditions had been met. 14 people feared dead in new Ebola outbreak in Uganda

By Rodney Muhumuza (AP) At least 14 people are now feared dead after the deadly Ebola virus hit Western Uganda, the country’s health officials said Saturday. The sad news ends weeks of speculation about the cause of a strange disease that had many people fleeing their homes. The officials and a World Health Organization representative told a news conference in Kampala Saturday that there is “an outbreak of Ebola” in Uganda. “Laboratory investigations done at the Uganda Virus Research Institute…have confirmed that the strange disease reported in Kibaale is indeed Ebola hemorrhagic fever,” the Ugandan government and WHO said in joint statement. Queen ‘parachutes’ into Olympic Park in drammatic film

By Henry D Gombya Nearly 27 million people in the United Kingdom are estimated to have watched the opening ceremony of this year’s Olympic Games that were opened Friday night by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In a spoof film made secretly by the organisers, the Queen was seen being approached by James Bond star Daniel Craig and asked to step out of her office in Buckingham Palace to go and open the games in East London. London High Court orders Mengi to post £1.86million surety

By Henry D Gombya Tanzanian media baron Reginald Mengi has been ordered by the High Court in London to pay nearly £1.9 million as security for a libel action he is taking against a British couple. Mengi, who is Chairman and CEO of IPP Media, a powerful Group of Newspaper, Television and Radio companies, isTanzania’s premiere information provider. He is suing British lawyer Sarah Hermitage for allegedly spearheading a deliberate campaign to damage his personal and business reputation.
