Museveni narrowly escapes being shot dead by his bodyguard

By Henry D Gombya in London and Nkonge I Kaggwa in Kampala Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni yesterday narrowly escaped death when one of his bodyguards “accidentally” lost possession of his automatic weapon which fell to the ground and fired as the Ugandan leader was about to get into his car. Unconfirmed reports say the bodyguard suffered gunshot wounds after one of his colleagues shot at him believing he was trying to assassinate Museveni who has been in power for the last 27 years. Calling for total overhaul of ICC’s Office of The Prosecutor

By Henry D Gombya A call has been made for the complete overhaul of the International Criminal Court’s Office of The Prosecutor following a confirmation by the ICC that the case against Cote d’Ivoire’s former President Laurent Gbagbo was not strong enough to warrant its continuation for trial in The Hague and that some sections of the ICC case against Kenya’s deputy president Samuel Ruto be referred back to Kenyan courts. France warned about following policy of regime change in Africa

By Henry D Gombya France has been warned that carrying out an ‘expansionist and regime change policy’ in Africa which is creating a ‘free fall zone’ for Al-Qaeda in North Africa, and sending troops to Mali without an exit strategy will create more insurgence and breed worse violence than what is happening in Afghanistan today.
