53 feared dead in Zambia road accident

The bus in which 53 lives were lost Thursday.

At least 53 people have been killed in a crash involving a bus and lorry in Zambia. The death toll could rise as rescuers were still trying to get into the bus wreckage hours after the crash, police reportedly said. The accident occurred about 100km (60 miles) north of the capital Lusaka on a two-lane highway known for heavy traffic. Reports indicate that about 70 people were on board the bus that was going to Lusaka from the Copperbelt. The accident happened at John Chinena area in Chibombo and the dead and injured were taken to Liteta hospital. About 12 survivors were rushed to the bigger hospital in Lusaka but … Continue reading

Zambian democracy under threat – Hichilema tells The LEP

The accusation was made by the country’s opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema during an exclusive interview with The London Evening Post.  “They are trying every means and ways to fix me but it will not work,” Hichilema said. Increase in abandoned body parts in Zambia puzzles police

By Paul Shalala in Lusaka, Zambia Zambian Police are puzzled at the sudden increase in the discovery of human body parts that have been found across the country recently. During an exclusive interview with The London Evening Post, the chief of Zambia’s Police Service Dr Solomon Jere said: ““This is a puzzle we need to solve. Mumba’s election casts doubts over future of MMD
