Col Gaddafi with some of his 'Amazon guards' who have been raped and tortured by the new Libyan regime.

They were once the world’s jetsetters envied by most women in the world as they accompanied their boss to state visits and to world conferences. And yes. They were ‘virgins’. But today we exclusively report that the late Col Muammar el-Gaddafi’s bodyguards have sent us a note describing what has happened to them since Gaddafi was lynched by an angry mob as he tried to flee from the Libyan rebels that finally ended his almost 40 years in power.

One of these girls who claims to have been captured by rebels of the National Transitional Council (NTC) on August 20, 2011 in the Libyan capital Tripoli and escaped in November or early December last year, has given an interview to those now shielding her from being recaptured in which she describes how NTC rebels captured many of Gaddafi’s bodyguards and subjected them to extremely violent torture that included raping them multiple times, using electric shock to try and make them talk about the Gaddafi regime and dismembering prisoners while they were still alive.

Called the Amazon Guards, Col Gaddafi’s women bodyguards were said to have been chosen because of their height (many were over six feet tall) and their being virgins. They were especially recognisable for their beautiful looks, long hair and painted finger nails, red berets and high heel boots that always made them stand out during visits abroad.

In a recorded interview that has been sent to us which was recorded in Arabic but translated into English, the Gaddafi woman bodyguard talks about how leaders of NATO forces that helped oust Col Gaddafi would feel ashamed were they to know what the NTC has done to captured former security personnel in Libya. She said: “They would put us inside some fridge trucks that were generally used as cold rooms or as mortuaries.” The girl says she was one of the Libyan women and girls who had ‘volunteered’ to join the Peoples Guard in order to ‘protect our country from NATO and the NTC’.

She said after being captured by the NTC, she and other Gaddafi women guards were tortured by using a ‘shocker’ or home-made electric chairs and bare electrical wires connected to a grid. “They scalded prisoners with hot water and sat them for long periods under freezing air outlets. They raped us and used all kinds of brutality and humiliation,” she told her interviewer.

The woman soldier says in her interview that she along with other Gaddafi bodyguards, were forced to say whatever their captors wanted in order to stop the torture. “I gave them what they wanted from me but I did it under torture, the influence of drugs they gave me and the threat of further harm,” she said. “As a further pressure, they kept saying that we are sick with something called Moammar Al Gaddafi but such idiots do not know how much we loved him.”
