According to our webmaster, the article ‘Kenyatta and Museveni ‘humiliated’ at the Somalia Conference’ was attracting nearly 4000 readers a minute when it appeared on Wednesday morning. Barely two years since the West helped Libyan rebels overthrow Col Muammar Gaddafi, the United States and Britain have announced the withdrawal of some of the staff from their embassies from the Libyan capital Tripoli because of a standoff between the government and heavily armed militias blockading parts of the capital, embassy officials said Friday. The move to evacuate non-essential diplomatic personnel comes after a bombing at the French Embassy last month that injured two security gendarmes. A gang using laptops and the internet has stolen an estimated £29m ($45m) from bank cashpoints around the world. The gang which set up a global cybercrime ring is reported to have drawn cash from two Middle East banks after hacking into credit card processing firms and withdrawing money from ATMs in 27 countries. In one of the two attacks, £26m ($40m) was raided from cashpoints across 24 countries in just over 10 hours – through a total of 36,000 transactions.
