A Ugandan journalist is among eight African Journalist awarded African Union Commission and NEPAD Agency (CAADP) Media Awards last Thursday at a ceremony held in the South African City of Durban.
Richard Katami Bwayo, who currently works with the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) Radio, formerly Radio Uganda as a reporter, producer and presenter in the Agriculture Section/Department, scooped the Radio and Audio Broadcast Award for promoting sustainability of land management in Africa.
Beaming with pride and happiness, Bwayo told The London Evening Post (The LEP) who went to talk to him in his office in Kampala Monday that during the 10 years he has worked in the media, he has never dreamed of winning an international award. “It makes me feel great to be a continental winner. This motivates me to even strive harder for more awards,” he said.
